I would like to commend you and your staff on the quality of care and letting the Eden Alternative philosophy shine through in your interactions with residents and families.
I just happened to be in Reception yesterday when Matron Avril was stopped by Mrs P’s family, specifically to compliment Rand Aid on the quality of nursing care Mrs P receives and the manner in which it is delivered – with kindness, compassion and great interaction between residents and staff. The management of the wing was highly praised and they in addition commented on the work the carers do – they specifically mentioned that residents are not just put in chairs to sit in the lounge and wait for time to pass, but that the staff interact with the residents, talk to them, engage them in things to do and are very attentive of their needs. They can see the trusting relationships residents have with staff and this gives them great comfort. They specifically mentioned Elizabeth, Kedibone and Jennifer as outstanding carers.
Many thanks for making Lakeside and Ron Smith Care Centre such a sought after place of care.
